RS-APS-Seminar

Titel
RS-APS-Seminar
Beschreibung

git is an open-source version control software.

Since it was started in 2005 by Linus Torvalds, it has gained widespread attention and become the standard development tool in the open-source world due to its strength in supporting collaborative work.

The seminar will start with an introduction talk explaining how you can benefit from version controlling your files. You will also learn about use cases, in which scenarios git can help you and in which it can’t.

The talk is followed by a hands-on training. Please bring your laptop for this part! We will install and setup git, then create an example history, checkout older revisions and show changes. We’ll conclude by starting to develop a single document together to show how git can improve collaborative work.
