When electrons or muons are bound in light atoms or ions, the binding is a small perturbation in most of their properties. I will discuss how it changes the magnetic moment of the electron, very precisely measured in recent experiments. I will also review the energy spectrum in the bound-muon decay, needed for searches of the lepton-flavor violation, now under preparation in Fermilab and J-PARC.
